Navajo artist Francis Begay cast this striking pendant by hand using the ancient lost-wax sandcasting technique — a process that produces the bold, textured surface and deeply dimensional form that no machine can replicate. Paired with a strand of rare Golden Hills turquoise and hand-stamped sterling silver barrel beads, this necklace is a serious collector’s piece.

Golden Hills turquoise — mined in Kazakhstan and prized for its vivid sky-blue color to lavendar hues and chocolate brown matrix is becoming more difficult to source. The 8–10mm nugget beads used here are rich in color and character, each one unique. The hand-stamped sterling barrel beads, flower spacers, and round silver accents tie the strand together with traditional Native American silversmithing detail.
